The community of Rome, Georgia, mourns the loss of a hardworking, passionate soul. Mr. Charles Ellis Cagle, born to the warm embrace of Frank Cagle and Margaret Aretta Dover Cagle on April 05, 1946, in Bartow County, embarked on his eternal journey on Sunday, August 20, 2023. He was 77.

Charles was grounded, diligent, and spirited. As a farm boy, he embraced the rhythms of the earth, tilling, sowing, and reaping with hands that bore the wisdom of the soil. His green thumb was legendary, bringing forth bountiful gardens and blossoms of joy. Those who knew Charles will remember his vibrant passion for wrestling, which he followed through its myriad stages, and his love for the open road, always eager to explore the world beyond the horizon.
In life's great never ending circle, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers Marvin, Junior, Carl Henry, and Raymond, as well as his cherished sisters, Ama Jean Minshew and Lois Kelley. As the sun sets on his life, his sister remains to cherish his memories and legacy.
The family, in homage to Charles' indomitable spirit, invites loved ones to join them for a visitation on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A service to honor his life will follow immediately at 5:00 PM at Good Shepherd Funeral Home following Interment at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 1810 Euharlee Road, Kingston, GA 30145. Derek Hall, a beacon in these solemn times, will officiate.

Honoring Charles by serving as pallbearers will be Tony Cagle, Wayne Cagle, Michael Minshew, Zach Stone, Bo Cagle, and Luke Davis. Stacy Stone, in special recognition, will stand as an honorary pallbearer.
Charles' life was a beautiful mosaic of intricately crafted pieces that are a testament of his dedication, love, and enthusiasm. In our gardens and in our hearts, his legacy blooms eternal. Rest in tranquility, Charles Ellis Cagle.
