LOOGOOTEE - Robert Earl Young, 66, died at 4:55 p.m. Saturday at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 9, 1939, in Shoals, he was the son of Leo Claude and Roma B. (Tabor) Young.
He was parts and service manager for Albrights, Inc., for 29 years and was of the Protestant faith. He was a past member of Loogootee Jaycees Club.
He is survived by his wife, Norma J. (Lundy) Young, whom he married May 6, 1961, in Loogootee; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa D. Jones, Gloria J. and Doug Schmitt and Audra R. and Brantley Lyon, all of Loogootee, and Beverly L. and David Hervig of Ferdinand; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. Jr. and Terry Young of Shoals; seven grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles L. and Tina Young of Cloverdale; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna Schnell of Odon, Deloris and Walt Walton of Bedford, Carolyn and Mark Hellums of Loogootee and Helen Sons of Indianapolis; stepfather, Melvin Nail of Plainville; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, two brothers, Eugene Young and John Dean Young; and two sisters, Loretta Dugan and Ruth Ann Persinger, are deceased.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Queen-Lee Funeral Home, Shoals. Burial will be in Mt. Union Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
