Lorene was born in Taft, California on January 20, 1933 to parents John Henry and Maude May Pilgrim. Sadly, by the age of 8, Lorene had lost both of her parents. She then moved to Bakersfield, California where she was provided a loving home and raised by her older sister, Irma Wadley.
Lorene was active in the Beta Chi Sorority for 55 years. She spent countless hours with her sorority sisters as they provided many services to the community.
Lorene was a dedicated nurse for over 50 years. She is fondly remembered by the longtime patients who often became friends.
Lorene was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) Oglesby. She is survived by her four children: Christine Hinkle and husband, Robert of Bend, Oregon; Wayne Oglesby, of Bakersfield, CA; Mark and his wife, Stacey, of Maricopa, CA; and Julie Oglesby, of Bakersfield., CA She leaves behind 10 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and dear friends who will sadly miss her.
Services will be held in the Pavillion at Hillcrest Memorial on October 13, at 11:00 am.
