Robert Duane Craig, USNR, husband of Mrs. Betty Lou Craig of Norfolk. The name of the passenger was not known immediately.

The crash occurred at about 1:30 p.m. on property belonging to Commonwealth's Attorney Joseph A. Billingsley of King George. The plane was reportedly enroute from its home base at Oceana Naval Station near Norfolk's to Anacostia Field, D.C. when forced down by bad weather.
