On August 10, 2023, Willie Nancy Grant-Gardner made it to the feet of Jesus and was made whole. During a courageous and enduring battle with Breast Cancer Nancy accepted the things she couldn't change, had the courage to change the things she could and used her God-given wisdom to know the difference. This serenity prayer helped her to accept the will of God and graciously cross to the other side: that place her Heavenly Father prepared for her.

Willie Nancy Grant-Gardner, the daughter of the late Maggie and Oscar Grant Sr. was born on October 30, 1958, in Leesville, La. She was affectionately known as Nancy, Nay and Nay-Nay among loved ones and friends. Nancy received her formal education and graduated from the Vernon Parish School System.

Upon graduation, Nancy attended Northwestern State University and graduated with a degree in Social Work. Nancy had a passion for working with and helping people which ultimately led her down the path of becoming as educator for the Vernon Parish School System for over 30 years until her retirement.

On February 3, 1987, Nancy had a life changing encounter with Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of her sins at the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville, La under Pastor Green. Later she joined the The Chuch of Jesus Christ House of Prayer under the leadership of the late Bishop Elbert Marbury Sr., where she faithfully served as church secretary. She met and married Larry D. Gardner Sr. in holy matrimony and to this union they gained four children. During this time God elevated Larry to deacon and led him and Nancy and their family to Open House Apostolic Church in fellowship with Pastor Judy Archie. God then led them to the Church of the Living God Pillar and Ground of the Truth under the leadership and guidance of Bishop Hayes Kelly Sr. in DeRidder, La. and General Overseer Bishop Jerry Wilhite. Over the course of time Nancy continued to grow in the Lord and the ministry. She was elevated to Missionary and First Lady of the Church of the Living God in Leesville, La where her husband served as pastor.

Nancy was a dynamic speaker and purposeful listener. She loved to talk and could carry a conversation for hours. This would prove to be a spiritual asset and one on Nancy's most effective gifts as she grew in the Lord and connected with people throughout life's journey. Nancy loved to drop by the homes of family and friends and say "girl, whatcha cooked?" Greens and Cornbread were her favorite! One thing about Nancy is she knew man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matt 4:4). She was always ready and excited to get in God's word and break spiritual bread. She was even more eager to share spiritual revelations with the brethren and body of Christ.

Nancy's gifts continued to make room for her and she became a knowledgeable and anointed teacher of God's word throughout the State of Louisiana and Southern district of the Church of the Living God. After passing of her husband, Pastor Larry Gardner in 2018, Nancy continued to press toward the mark of the higher calling and walk in leadership until her health declined in 2023.

Nancy understood that time and chance happen to us all and even so she seized every opportunity and took advantage of the time she had left in her earthly vessel and continued to minister, prophesy and be a witness for the kingdom every chance she got. Nancy was not only a teacher of God's word, but also a doer. Her bowels of compassion were always open and wherever there was a need she demonstrated mindfulness, kindness and common humanity. She had a "giver's heart" and wasn't confined to these earthly goods. If someone was in need, Nancy would give and do without hesitation or reservation. She would open her home and heart to family and perfect strangers just in case she entertained angels unaware. This helped her be an effective leader, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry D. Gardner Sr., parents Maggie Mae and Oscar Grant Sr., son Larry Gardner Jr.: sisters, Edna Bruton and Catherine Johnson: brothers Clyde Grant, Nolen Grant, Wesley-O'Neal Grant, and James Spencer.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved children: sons, Samuel "Booney" Gardner of Leesville, La, Jacob Gardner of Alexandria, La; daughter Kei'lah "KeeKee" Gardner of Leesville, La; two special nieces who she raised as her own Tausha McCoy and Mysea Bell of Leesville, La; grandsons La'El Gardner of South Carolina and Preston Huff of Leesville, La; sister Evelyn "Red" Graham (David); brothers Oscar Grant Jr., Alfred "Sonny" Spencer, Issac "I.T" Grant, and Harold Grant all of Leesville, La and fur baby "Harpo". Nancy also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, friends, Godchildren, sisters and brother in Christ to preserve and cherish her memory.

Bless each of you abundantly and may his blessings and prosperity toward you know no boundaries.
