Father William J. Axe, O.SS.T., was the pastor of St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in Hanover, Maryland, for 12 years, from 1994 to 2006. Born in Kansas, the only child of William and Thelma Axe, he was ordained a priest with the Trinitarians on October 12, 1974. A theologian and an archeologist, he was a research assistant at the Ecole Biblique in Jerusalem, and served at parishes in Kansas City, Kansas, New Jersey, St. Agatha Church in Los Angeles, California, and in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he taught theology at Xavier University and Loyola University. He was the Minister Provincial of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity and of the Captives (O.SS.T.) from 2015 to 2018, and last served at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary - St. Richard parish in Palmetto Bay, Florida.
