PATRICIA WARD, 55, of Hobbs New Mexico passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2003 in Hobbs. Funeral services will be at 2pm Friday, April 4,2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Hobbs with Reverend Russell Hill, Vista Care Family Hospice Chaplain and Pastor Jimmy Senkel of Graham, Texas officiating. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 11am at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham. Local arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Patricia was born in Graham, Texas to Truman and Velma Gowens. She married Joe Ward on October 28, 1977 in Abilene, Texas. Patricia attended the University of Texas in Arlington, North Texas State and New Mexico Junior College. She was employed as a programmer for the Hobbs Municipal Schools. She enjoyed skiing, exercise classes and spoiling her grandchildren. Survivors: husband; Joe Ward of Hobbs; parents; Truman and Velma Gowens of Graham, TX; brother; Kenneth Gowens of Coppell TX; sister; JoAnn Davis of Baytown TX; stepchildren; Tregina Ward of Ruidoso, NM; Nixon Ward of Illinois; Sean Ward and Shay Finley of Abilene, TX. A sister-in-law, Helen Robinson Arlington, TX, eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother Charles Gowens.
