David L. Ray, 74, passed away on December 6, 2018. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN on April 4, 1944, the son of the late Chester and Flossie Ray.

David served in the US Navy for over three years and was honorably discharged in 1967. He worked at Prairie Farms formally known as Allen Dairy as a machine operator for a number of years. David was a lifetime member the Southwest Conservation Club where he enjoyed serving for the fish fries and was affectionately known as the "green bean man." He was also a member in long standing of American Legion Post 241, and member of RWDSU Local 810. Dave enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son and always looked forward to their Canadian Fishing Trips.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon "Shari" Ray; son Darren (Nina) Ray; and special granddaughter, Jasmine referred to as "Tiger". Other survivors include, Kathi (Don) Robinson, Anna (Jim) Mize, and brother, Kenneth (Debbie) Ray. Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Eileen Hakey.

Funeral service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park, 6301 Fairfield Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46807. With visitation one hour prior. Visitation will be on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 also at the funeral home.
