The Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) November 21, 1991 > Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Alsup, 71, died Tuesday at Geriatrics Nursing Home in Jonesboro. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro. She was a member of Rowe's Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Alsup, the widow of Burley Gerald Alsup, leaves five daughters, Mrs. Daisy Martin of Manila, Mrs. Peggy Petty of Burdette, Mrs. Mary Horton and Mrs. Carolyn Brooks, both of Caraway, and Mrs. Kathy Curry of Wingo, KY; five sons, Gerald Alsup of Collierville, TN, Robert Alsup of Orrick, MO, James Alsup of Manila, Norman Alsup of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Ronnie Alsup of Caraway; five sisters, Mrs. Malinda White of Harrisburg, Mrs. Jewel Emenhiser of Charlotte, MI, Mrs. Joy Bridges of Knoxville, TN, Mrs. Nellie Widner of Rochester, MN, and Mrs. Ruth Sweat of Jacksonville; three brothers, Leonard Brinkley of Benton, and James Brinkley and Richard Brinkley, both of Memphis; 26 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The family requests any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
