Mother of Allen R. Alford

Augusta Cecelia Alford, 95, of Temple and formerly of Cameron, died July 17 in a Galveston hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 22 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ranjan Cletus officiating. Entombment followed in the Garden Memorial Mausoleum at St. Monica's Catholic Cemetery in Cameron.

Alford was born to Albina (Mondrik) and Clem A. Wohleb in Cameron Nov. 17, 1910. She was raised in Cameron. She worked at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Beaumont and worked at Kelly Field in San Antonio during World War II. She married Robert A. Alford in St. Louis, Mo. in December 1946 and assisted her husband in ranching until the time of his death. She moved to Temple in 1980 and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. She was a charter member of Scott & White Fitness Center in 1986.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include her son, Allen Robert Alford and sister, Albina Lee Wohleb Olsen.
