Oldest son of CSA veteran TC Redding and wife Mattie Arrington. Tom married Jimmie Harper 14 December 1882 in Brooks County, GA. They were married 10 years. Jimmie died giving birth to their 6th child. Tom later married Lucy Livingston 12 November 1893 in Thomas County, GA. They were married 25 years, issue; 7 children. Thomas Redding was one of a group of 4 business men that purchased land for the Murphy School in Colquitt County, GA. This land was donated to the School Board in 1906. When the Murphy School was subsequently combined with Sunset School, the land was deeded back to the Murphy Cemetery. Tom is believed to have died as a result of the worldwide Spanish flu epidemic that occurred during WWI. He lived 54 years.
