She was preceded in death by her father, her husband Damian Miller, paternal grandparents, Oliver Bourke and Mary Acosta Bourke, maternal grandparents Andrew J. Jordan Jr and Alice Gast Jordan, and a sister Summer Raye Harris.
She is survived by husband John C. McAdams, son Dakota Jordan (Ciara), daughters Raelynn Allorah Jordan (Kyle Day),Lilly B. Miller, and Elizabeth D. McAdams two grandsons Broly and Hudsin Jordan, her mother Phyllis Jordan, parents Lester Harris (Sara) of Pensacola, Fl., sisters Gina Leigh Bourke of Baton Rouge, La., Shannon L. Jordan, a brother Andrew J.Harris, a niece Dayla Hughes, and two nephews Jordan Martin and Landon Jordan, three aunts Gloria Tharp (Roy) of Weeki Wachee, Fl, Donna Crawford, and Tammy Toxey, and numerous cousins and other chosen family.
Melanie was as tough as they come, and cussing was her second language. She liked riding motorcycles, shooting pool, and being the center of attention. She was artistic, and the world was her canvas as displayed in everything from her tattoo art, jewelry she created, to decorating, and flowers in her mother's front yard.
She was good at multitasking, especially when she got behind the wheel of a car, texting, lighting a cigarette, finding a radio station, and flipping horn blowers off all at the same time. One ride with Melanie driving went a long way.
She was a giving person, and she never met a stranger.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this journey; Genesis Church, Joyce Sagely, GI Associates of West Alabama, Keturah Wise, Rhonda Tilley, Boondock Saints, Fall Risk, The Punishers MC, all her friends that came and supported her cause, and visited at home and at Hospice. Her special Angels at hospice have earned their place in Heaven.
Her remains will be cared for by Cremation Center of Birmingham and a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
She is at her new home now and her suffering is over.
