On June 10, 1953 Andrew and Greta Beasley welcomed a bouncing baby boy to their large family. He was named Edward Gene Beasley. As Edward grew his bowed legs lead to him being called BOLEG. He was very much loved by his parents and the 9 siblings before him so he was quickly spoiled.

BOLEG as he was affectionately known matriculated through the Clarksdale Public Schools.  As a young adult he moved to Aurora, Illinois and throughout most of the ensuing years he lived in Illinois and various other states. In 2012 he had a hankering to moved back to Clarksdale to be closer to his mother, Mrs. Greta. Unfortunately his mother passed away that same year but he remained in Clarksdale.

BOLEG parlayed his talents and skills in various professions. He was a certified welder, a maintenance worker, and a pool hall manager. After returning to Clarksdale he joined Larry Turner working in the Hot Tamale and restaurant business before joining the staff at Great River Road Country Store.

BOLEG was a voracious reader. He loved doing crossed word puzzles and Sudoku and playing solitary.   An avid huntsman, fisherman, and shooting pool were his favorite pastime relaxing activities. 

Visitation will be held Saturday July 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Royal Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 PM.  Rev. Marvin K. Myles, Sr., officiating.  

On July 19, 2023 BOLEG passed away while at work at the Great River Road Country Store. His parents, Andrew and Greta Beasley, and Siblings: Eugene 'Bubba', Andrew Jr., Archie, Donald Ray and Gloria Jean preceded him in death.  He leaves to mourn his precious memories one son, Edward G. Beasley Jr. (Necole), grandsons, André, Antony, Ameer and Amar. Brothers: Jesse (Verna), John, Robert (Sirnollie) and Andrew III 'Pandy'. Sisters: Laura and Evelyn (Paul); and one bonus niece Jacaila 'Lil' Mama' Crawford.

Four generations of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including 2 forever friends Lawrence Spearman and Larry Turner.
