Excerpts from small obit in Montrose Daily Press Sun Oct 13 1957: Henry Ross dies in Telluride. During his active years Mr Ross used burro pack trains to carry freight to Telluride. He also engaged in mining, prospecting, and farming. He was born Jan 29 1868 at California Gulch (Fremont Co), CO. His parents were Mr and Mrs John A Ross, Colorado mining pioneers. His wife, Sarah Bruce Ross, died Oct 17 1940 at Norwood. Preceeded by his wife, a daughter, three sons, and five brothers. Survived by four sons: John and Cecil Ross of Norwood; Ted Ross of Montrose; Woodrow Ross of Slick Rock; four daughters: Mrs AW Campbell of Redvale; Mrs Henry Champllin of Telluride; Mrs Allen Strain and Mrs Hilbert Smith of Uravan; 28 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
