Ernest "Ernie" W. Allen, beloved brother, father, stepfather, and friend to many, passed away at age 80 on August 06, 2023. He was born on November 21, 1942, in Lincoln, Illinois to Willard B. and Kate Ashley Allen. Ernie was the third of six children born to his parents.

He served in the United States Army with an honorable discharge as a Sergeant in 1965. Following the Army, Ernie continued to serve his country for many years in the Army National Guard. Ernie retired from Hoover Ball in 2006 after forty years of service. After his retirement he was able to spend more time renovating homes throughout Unicoi County. This was Ernie's delight and joy; helping others and doing what he had perfected with pride.

Ernie was preceded in death by both his parents, Willard and Kate Allen; two sisters: Betty Price and Bernice Allen.

He is survived by his son, Ernest Daniel "Danny" Allen and his wife, April; three sisters: Virginia Morris and husband, Bobby, Ruby Ann Morris and husband, Frank, Linda Allen O'Brien and husband, John; stepchildren, step grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.

A private entombment will be held in the Evergreen Mausoleum.
