Darlyn A. Bell, age 94, passed away on August 8, 2023, at 9:25 pm, at The Greens at Lima Convalescent Home.
Darlyn was born September 22, 1928, in Lima, OH, to Denis P. and E. Madelene (Ruff) Flavin who preceded her in death.
On April 22, 1950, she married Leo F. Bell who preceded her in death on January 9, 1992.
Darlyn is survived by her children: Linda
McKinley of Lima, OH, Kevin (Lisa) Bell of St. Marys, OH, Denny Bell of Lima, OH, Cathy (Steve) Stoddard of Trenton, MI and Steve (Patty) Bell of Lima, OH, a step-daughter, Deenie (Jim) Morris of Waynesfield, OH, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, siblings: Phillip (Carolyn) Flavin of Sebastian, FL, Denise Linder of Greenville, OH, Suzanne (Dave) Bowles of Sebastian, FL, Erin Kelly of Lima, OH and Shannon (Ric) Bratton of Sebastian, FL and a sister in-law, Nancy Flavin of Grove City, OH. She was preceded in death by a son in-law, Terry L. McKinley, 2 brothers: Ronald and Richard Flavin and 2 brothers in-law, Stan Linder and John Kelly.
Darlyn was a 1946 graduate of St. Gerard High School.
She was a homemaker and had spent the majority of her life taking care of her family and raising her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Darlyn and her husband Leo, loved dancing and had won numerous dancing contests in and around the Lima area.
She loved traveling and spending her winters in Florida and was always up for an adventure.
There will be a funeral service held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Fr. Kent Kaufman. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery following the service.
Friends may visit on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
