Roland Avellani
COHOES - Roland Avellani, 66, of 100 Van Schaick Ave., a former Cohoes and Troy businessman, died Wednesday at Leonard Hospital in Troy after being stricken at his residence in Cohoes. Death was attributed to natural causes.
Born in Schencetady, he was son of the late Paul and Maria Bricoccoli Avellani. A resident of Cohoes most of his life, Mr. Avellani was owner of the former Cohoes Music Center, retiring in 1967. He also was owner of the Lansingburgh Dairy Queen and retired from that business in 1975. Mr Avellani was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Watervliet Lodge of Elks and the Van Schaick Country Club in Cohoes; former member of the Marconi Club and communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Cohoes.
Survivors include his wife, the former Pauline Cucchi, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Kortz of Marlboro in Ulster County and Christine Avellani of Latham and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Mara Funeral Home, corner of Remsen and Columbia Streets in Cohoes, and at 9:30 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Schenectady.
