LEWIS BEEKMAN FUNERAL FRIDAY
Lewis Beekman, a former resident of this section, died at the Soldier's Home of Danville, Illinois, Sunday, at the age of 81 years. He had been in feeble health for many years.
The remains arrived at Marion Wednesday and were taken to the funeral parlors of Diggs & Son, where they will lie in state until Friday morning. The deceased was an inmate of the Soldiers Home of Marion for a number of years prior to the removal of the soldiers from that institution to Danville.
He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Lucetta Beekman, now a resident of the State Soldier's Home at Lafayette, and until recently a resident of Van Buren; three sons, Jacob, of Marion; Henry, of Indianapolis; and William, of Van Buren township. Three daughters, Mrs. Jennie Burman and Mrs. Daniel Mowrer, of Van Buren township; and Mrs. Jeff Johnson of Odin, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at the Union Chapel Church Friday afternoon and interment will be in the Union Chapel/Beekman Cemetery.
