Born December 20, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of Leroy Wayne and Rebekah Elaine (Casebolt) Bolander. He was raised and received his education around the Winfield area, until moving to Vallejo, California, where he graduated from high school. Following school, Bob joined the United States Army. He proudly served his country from July 1960 until his honorable discharge on July 17, 1963.
Bob was united in marriage to Marcia Smith and the couple had a daughter Becky. They made their home in Winfield where Bob worked at Binney and Smith before beginning his career at Smith & Moon for 35 years. He later worked at Boeing, Galaxy Tool, and Bogner's. Marcia preceded him in death on March 30, 2003.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob loved fishing, competing in multiple Bass Pro tournaments. He also enjoyed bow hunting, rifle hunting, and trapping. He enjoyed watching reality t.v. with loved ones, including Big Brother with his daughter.
His family includes his brother Roger Bolander; his three granddaughters; his four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Becky McMinn, and a brother Perry Bolander.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private burial will take place.
