Ottes 'Ott' Pruett, 85, of Maquon died at 3:14 a.m. Sunday, June 9, 1991 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Knox Co. IL

Born May 15, 1906 in Birch Tree, MO., to William and Stella Dugger Pruett, he married Virginia Ruth Cramer on May 2, 1931, in Oak Park. She died Nov 26, 1946. He later married Doris F. Bowen on Jan. 30, 1953, in rural Maquon at the home of his son. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, of Maquon; one daughter, of rural Galesburg; two stepdaughters of London Mills and Abingdon. One sister, May Nelson of Galesburg; six grandchildren, including one he and his wife raised; several step-grandchildren; 10 great-grand children; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Raised and educated in southern Illinois and Knox County, he farmed in Knox County and was a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, with the Rev. James Vancil officiating. Burial will be in the Knoxville Cemetery.
