Beard, Patricia Kay Born July 31, 1950 in Austin, Texas. Passed away peacefully, August 2, 2010 at her home in Plano, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Myrtle Brewer. She is survived by her son, Christopher Beard, aunt Westelle Paul, mother-in-law Jeanette Beard, and ex-husband David Beard and his wife Sandy. Patricia taught at Rugel Elementary School in Mesquite for most of her life, primarily working with 3rd graders in the Quest Program for the Gifted & Talented. She was a dedicated teacher and sincerely loved her students. She also loved to sing and dance, creating music both at home and with the choir at the Unity Church of Dallas. Moreover, she was a very loving mother, and a living example of kindness, compassion, and understanding. Family will receive friends at the visitation from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, August 6, 2010 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. The family requests that in the stead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the ALS Association in her name. She was a gift to all of us, and will always be remembered.
