He was a Christian and believed in a better life in Heaven. He was a retired teacher and track coach and an avid hiker. Joe was very proud of his accomplishment of walking one lap at the YMCA for each year of his life to commemorate his birthday. He also hiked the entire length of the Ouachita Trail with the aid of the Ouachita Mountain Hikers and commemorated his 60th birthday by canoeing the entire shoreline of Lake Ouachita.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fonnie and Eldiree (Penniger) Breashears; two brothers; and one niece.
