Martha R. Schwartz, 79, of 36931 Julian St., Avon, lifelong resident of the community, died yesterday morning at St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain, after an illness of six weeks. Before retiring, Miss Schwartz was employed in clerical work by the Norfolk and Western Railroad for 44 years. She was a member of St. Mary Church, Avon and the Legion of Mary. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Carl Smith, Blanche Schwartz and Dorothy Schwartz, all of Avon. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Friends will be received today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Burmeister County Line Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held today at 8:30 p.m. The funeral will be conducted tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Avon. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Avon.
