John Wesley Galloway and Clarinda Frances Jones were the parents of 9 children:

John was born at Calloway County, Kentucky, on 28 April 1834. He was the son of Charles Galloway Jr. and Miranda Brush.

John served in the military at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, on 10 October 1857. He enlisted for a 60 day tour starting on 10 October and ending on 8 December. This tour was to fight Mexican marauders coming across the border. His tour was spent in the area between San Antonio and the Gulf of Mexico..

John served in the military on 10 November 1858. The second enlistment was for six months starting on 10 November 1858 and ending on 10 May 1859. This tour was to fight Indians on the western frontier of Texas.

He served in the Co. C, 2nd Rgmt Texas Mtd Rifles (Confederate Army) during the Civil War. Amnesty was given to John at New Braunfels, Comal County, Texas, on 3 October 1865. 

He married Clarinda Frances Jones on 28 February 1866 at Comal County, Texas, at age 31 and she 27. He migrated from Texas to Calloway County, Kentucky in 1874. John applied for a military pension at Calloway County, Kentucky, on 11 February 1909. John received a pension of $8 per month for his service in the Indian Wars prior to the Civil War. His pension commenced on 30 May 1908 even though his application was dated 11 February 1909. The pension was increased to $20 per month on 19 February 1913.

He was dropped from the roles on 25 June 1914 after his death.. John died on 23 June 1914 at Calloway County, Kentucky, at age 80.  His body was interred at Calloway County, Kentucky, at Sinking Springs Cemetery.
