Vernon J. Hansen, 83, a longtime resident of Cokeville, Wyoming, passed away Wednesday morning March 23, in Ogden.
He was born March 3 1922, in Dingle Idaho to Martin John and Karen Marie (Carrie) Sorensen Hansen. He attended schools in Dingle.
On January 21 1950, Vernon married Doris Daisy Nelson. They later divorced. On June 7, 1963, he married Leonora Karma Boehme. She passed away in 1989. He married Betty Allen on
April 27, 1990.
In his lifetime, Vern worked at various local ranches, owned and operated a cafe and a saddle shop. For the past twenty-seven years Vern immensely enjoyed his work at the Cokeville landfill-especially the people who were always 'shooting the breeze' with him and catching him up on the latest news.
He loved dancing, outings, and gatherings with his family. He cherished the role of grandpa and never lacked for fishing buddies.
Vern is survived by his wife, Betty of Cokeville; a son Vernon Layne Hansen,l Monroe Washington; a step-daughter, Karma Loertscher of Geneva; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifford C. Hansen, and Raymond Hansen; and three sisters, Evelyn Hoge, June Dorsey and Ester Morgan.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the LDS church in Cokeville. Burial was in the Geneva cemetery.
