Amelia "Cissy" Pruitt Seidel, 81, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully 3:38 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at TriStar Centennial Heart Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Cissy was born on November 28, 1941, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late William Henry and Aline Frances O'Nan Sauer. She was a homemaker. In the mid 1980s, Cissy and her late husband, David Pruitt, owned and operated Pruitt's Grocery in Cairo, Kentucky. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose where she held several offices. Cissy loved canning and enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Pruitt; her second husband, Jack Seidel; her parents, William Henry and Aline Frances O'Nan Sauer; an infant son, Kenneth James Pruitt; two sisters, Nadine Brooks and Beverly Hooper; and three brothers, Douglas W. Sauer, Max F. Sauer, and Joseph R. Sauer, all formerly of Henderson County.

Survivors include four sons, David Pruitt, Jr. and his wife, Lee Ann of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Wayne Pruitt, John Pruitt and his wife, Glenda, and Kevin Pruitt and his wife, Racheal, all of Henderson, Kentucky; six sisters, Cecelia Yates, Sue Liles, Sara Nelson, Annie Patterson, Patty Day, and Freida Smith Grossman, all of Henderson, Kentucky; one brother, David Sauer of Henderson, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Courtney Farley, Jesse Pruitt, Manda Clary, Jacob Pruitt, Matthew Pruitt, Wesley Pruitt, Tristen Pruitt, and Brady Pruitt; two stepgrandchildren, Trista Thomas and Gwen Herzig; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at noon Monday, July 31, 2023, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Richard Meredith will officiate. Entombment will be in Fairmont Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2023, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Pruitt, Jacob Pruitt, Matthew Pruitt, Wesley Pruitt, Tristen Pruitt, and Brady Pruitt.
