Mr. Alan Darden Borders, 77, of Kalamazoo MI, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at his home.
Born on July 16, 1946 in Daytona Beach FL, he was the son of the late Parnell L. Borders Sr. and Earlene Hewitt Borders. Mr. Borders was a 1964 graduate of Lanphier High School, Springfield IL and a member of the Trinity Temple Seventh-Day Adventist in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
He leaves behind two daughters: Celeste Borders of Kalamazoo MI and Monique Borders of Springfield IL; a granddaughter: Chloe Young; two brothers: Parnell Borders Jr. (Jan) & Maurice Borders (Gale) and a sister: Armenta L. Borders Johnson all of Springfield IL also survives.
Mr. Borders was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Yong Suk Pyon.
The family will receive friends Sunday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.
Funeral services for Mr. Alan Borders will be held Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Pastor In Seok Park officiating. Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens – South, Royston GA. A memorial service will be held on August 6, 2023 at the Trinity Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1615 East G. Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49004 at 1 p.m.
Flowers optional, memorials may be made to defray funeral expenses.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
