Heflin - Eddie Cantrell, 79, died Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at his residence.
Eddie enjoyed many things in his life: music, fishing, Ford Racing, playing pool, walking with friends at Heflin Rec. Center and sitting with friends at Kojacks. He enjoyed life and did it his way. His proudest achievement was the 43 years he worked at Southwire.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Verdo & Gera Cantrell; four brothers, Raymond, Ralph, Leon & Bobby Cantrell; and two sisters, Erlene Abercrombie & Ruby Finch.
Survivors include his wife, Erlene Cantrell; a daughter, Sylvia Dawn Peters; and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Preston and Rev. Kenneth Howell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Riley Johnson, Robert Fordham, James Cason & Harold Barker.
Burial will follow in Lower Cane Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
