General of Indian Affairs. the Son of Colonel Daniel Claus, and His Wife, Ann Johnson, Daughter of Sir William Johnson, William Claus Was Born in New York State in 1765 and Died At the "wilderness" - His Home in Niagara in 1826. He Was Buried in the Family Vault in Butler's Burial Ground Beside His Mother Who Died in 1801. Some
