Arlene Barbara Sears was born July 30, 1934, in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of George & Jean Mascavage Sears. After high school graduation, Arlene married John R. Cofty in 1954. They made their home in Columbus, moving "home" in 1981. Arlene was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
"The more the merrier" was Arlene's mantra. She was a great cook known especially for her homemade lasagna sauce. Arlene was all about the details. She kept an orderly house with everything in its place. She loved dogs (especially Dachshunds for some reason), watching BBC, reading mystery novels, and firing up her computer. Facebook kept her connected, allowed her to relive special memories, and provided entertainment when the boys were out of pocket.
Survivors include her two sons and their wives of Bainbridge and Brinson; and her grandson. In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Roger Cofty, Sr., and her siblings.
