Dwight "D.L." Moody, Jr.
June 8, 1966 - July 22, 2023

Mr. Dwight Leon Moody, Jr., 57, of Newnan, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Sacred Journey Hospice facility. He was born June 8, 1966 to the late Pastor Dwight Leon Moody, Sr. & the late Peggy Ann Moody.

DL grew up in Newnan, GA and was an inspiration to all. He was a very successful real estate agent for Newnan and was well known for his mentorship to others that were up and coming in the real estate world. He would give his time and efforts to anyone who needed it. DL also loved to work with his hands and had an ability to fix almost anything that was put in front of him. If any of his family or friends expressed to him that they were struggling with something whether it be a broken piece of equipment or just daily life struggles he would drop what he was doing and give you both ears and hands. When he wasn't working on equipment or selling real estate he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and

spending time with his family. There was never a dull moment with DL. He was well known for his humor and lighthearted, live life to the fullest attitude. If you were ever worried that something couldn't be fixed he would say, "don't worry, we'll get it figured out." The phrase "give up" was not in his vocabulary. His life was filled with love, laughter, and helping others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The visitation is Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 5:00pm unril 7:00pm at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA 30263. The funeral service is Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 11:00am with Pastor Kevin Couch officiating in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. His final wishes are to be cremated after the service and his ashes placed into an artificial reef that will be placed off the coast of Mexico Beach, FL where he, his wife, and sons visited frequently over the past years.
