Funeral services for Homer Easterling, 71, were held at 2: 00 p.m., Friday, August 27, 1982, from the Oak Grove Church of God at Polkville in Smith County. The Rev. A. M. LaPrarle, the Rev. Larry Duncan, the Rev. Hamilton Poupart, and the Rev. Coley Arender officiated. Interment was made in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Smith County with Ott & Lee Funeral Home In Morton in charge of arrangements.

Easterling died Wednesday night at the St. Dominic Hospital Hospital in Jackson, following a short illness. A retired farmer, he had been a resident of the Polkville Community most of his life. He was a member of the Oak Grove Church of God.

Survivors Include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Traxler Easterling, Polkville; two sons, Fred Easterling Easterling and Gene Easterling, Polkville; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Wilma Faye) McCrimon, Morton; two brothers, Clifton Easterling, Polkville, and Horace Easterling, Morton; five sisters, Mrs. Lela Huff, Polkville, Mrs. Myrna Lee Gray and Mrs. Lola Mae Alford, Jackson, Mrs. Elvie McAllister, Ft. Smith, Ark., and Mrs. Eula McGathen, Gulfport, nine grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Marty Gray, Paul Phillips, Charlie Phillips, Garland Huff. Larry Reeves, and Billy G. Adcox. Scott County Times - 1982
