Alpha and Ernest Winfred Farris, son of James Madison and Cornelia Vernetti Schultz were married on November 16, 1912. They were the loving parents of 4 children. After many moves, they settled in Colton, CA, later moving to Cowell, CA. She was a telephone operator in this company town, surrounded by family and friends.

When her husband retired from the railroad, they moved to Denver, CO to be near their only daughter. With the help of their son John, they were able to purchase a home, where they resided when she passed away.

She was such a special person to her family. She listened to her grandchildren's problems, never scolded nor criticized, always ready with a loving smile and assurance of her love for them.

When the first TV was purchased, she became a wrestling fan. She loved to cook, sew, crochet, knit, work jigsaw puzzles, and lovingly taught sewing skills.

She is survived by her loving husband Ernest, 3 sons Clyde, James, John, daughter Helen, 9 grandchildren, Barry, Lesley, Pamela, Carolyn, David, Barbara, James, Judith, and Robert.

She is buried in the family plot in San Bernardino, CA.
