Dean R. Johnson, 86, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Waller officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dean R. Johnson was born June 28, 1921, in Covington, the son of George and Winnie Johnson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was employed at General Dynamics and retired from Bell Helicopter. He was a faithful member of College Hill Church of Christ and was a song leader and instructor for many years.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Elora Darice; three sisters; and one brother.
Survivors: Loving wife of 67 years, Wilma Johnson; daughter, Paula Murrell and husband, Joe, of North Richland Hills; son, Dean Johnson and wife, Charla, of Richland Hills; grandchildren, Dean Johnson III, Kevin Johnson and wife, Susan, Angela Girgenti and husband, Nick, Heather Freeman and husband, Russell, Brandon Moore and Kim Wamsley, and Lauren Finger and husband, John; and great-grandchildren, Spencer Johnson, Hayden Johnson, Evan Johnson, Micah Johnson, Ethan Johnson and Madison Freeman.
