Donald Dale Sackett of Alcova, WY 74, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, January 22, 2015. He passed peacefully at his home.
Mr. Sackett was born to Claude Morris Sackett and Edith Elizabeth (Toth) Sackett on December 23, 1940 in Sundance, Wyoming. He married Meredith Kay Coleman on March 19, 1961 in Guernsey, Wyoming.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Meredith, his children, Donna Rice (Cliff Rice), of Valparaiso, Indiana, Valerie Conyers (Rick Conyers) and Lisa Ogden (Randy Ogden), of Casper, Wyoming, his brother Darrell Sackett of Tulsa, Oklahoma, his sister Sharron Cheyne, of Dianna, Texas, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sackett was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His family will remember him as a gentle man who loved carpentry, enjoyed hunting, was devoted to time at Alcova Lake with family, and appreciated the natural beauty of the State of Wyoming. Don was pleased to be the grandson of immigrants. His maternal grandparents came to the U.S. from Hungary in the late 1800s, passing through Ellis Island. They homesteaded in Northern Wyoming.
A memorial service will be planned in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to do so, make contributions to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 S. Wilson, Casper, Wyoming, 82601.
