OBITUARY - Last Saturday morning, about six o'clock, Dea. John Heyward Kimball peacefully passed to the beyond. He was born more than seventy-five years ago and spent his life here. He was a very remarkable man, one whom everyone liked and respected, and a man of high ideals, purity and simplicity of life seldom seen. He was a loyal devoted member of the Unitarian church, and a member of the adult class, always having his verse to repeat. The funeral was Tuesday afternoon, at two o'clock, at the home, and at four o'clock public services were held at the church, which was filled with friends and townspeople. Rev. W. I. Nichols of Brooklyn, N. Y. officiated by personal request of Dea. Kimball, years ago, when he was pastor here. Rev. I. F. Porter also officiated. Mr. Nichols paid a glowing, loving tribute to his character and life, in that he was an example for all to emulate. Beautiful floral emblems were given by the adult class, also the Sunday school. He leaves a widow, six children and five grandchildren, and hosts of relatives and friends to cherish his memory.

He was the son of John and Lucy (Hayward) Kimball. He married, June 14, 1846, Nancy Augusta Tuttle, daughter of Nathan H. and Nancy (Tuttle) Tuttle. She died May 16, 1907.
