Des Moines - Ronald R. Rinehart is currently out of town visiting family, extended family and friends who he has not seen for a while. "Ron" was born in Pella, Iowa, on February 21, 1940 to parents Murray and Gladys (VanBrogen) Rinehart, where he joined his two older siblings, Emma Maxine and Verle Lee. After graduating from Pella High School, he generally worked various jobs, saving his money, living at home and eventually attended Central College from which he graduated in 1966. While he had many choices, he dated Judith Kay Keegstra from Grand Rapids, Michigan, for three years and upon graduation, married on August 27, 1966. They moved to Des Moines where Judy worked for two years at Catholic Social Services and Ron worked for two years with the State of Iowa in juvenile parole services. Both Ron and Judy went on to graduate school at the University of Iowa School of Social Work culminating with both earning their Masters Degree in Social Work. It was in Des Moines where they began their careers in various fields of Human Services in 1972. Shortly thereafter, and most wonderfully, they became parents to their son, Brian Christopher, on December 1, 1973. A most beautiful gift! Ron and Judy were married for 54 years.

Myself, I retired to enjoy my "Golden Years" in December 2018 from Child Psychiatry Associates, a place of wonderful colleagues, challenges, growth and joy!

Those that I leave behind briefly: my wife Judy; son Brian; and the most cherished grandchildren in my world, Drew, 19, Devin 17, and twins Allie and Abbey, 15. I was predeceased by my parents and my brother and sister.

At this point, I want to thank my caregivers, certainly my wife Judy, my Oncologist Dr. Dan Buroker and his team, and my Cardiologists Dr. Craig Stark and Johnie Bidwell and their team who kept my Warfarin levels in check, and my Wolff Eye Clinic Ophthalmologist, David Saggau, MD.

As per my wishes there will be no funeral, but a visitation Friday, March 19th, 2021 from 5pm-7pm at Creekside Church, 2743 82nd Pl in Urbandale, IA 50322, and a Celebration of Life late Spring or early Summer to be announced. Instead of flowers, memorials may be left for the Ronald McDonald House, the Mid-American Energy I-Care/Care Programs, or a charity of your choice. Part of my cremains will be sprinkled on my parent's grave, and other places of beautiful memories I so love. My journey shall rest in the cemetery in Bondurant, Iowa. So for now, say your prayers, sleep well and good night.
