Arlene Jeannette "Jan" Walters Lawrence, 96 of Hampton Twp., PA, died on Monday October 10, 2011 in Golden Living of Oakmont, Oakmont, PA.
She was born August 11, 1915 in Columbus, OH to the late Harvey W. and Augusta Plattenburg Walters.
Mrs. Lawrence was a secretary with the Tacoma, WA Public School System and retired after fourteen years of service.
She was a Naval veteran of WWII and proudly distinguished herself as the first of four women to drop a bomb as a Norden Bombsight Trainer.
She was survived by: her stepson, William F. Lawrence (Kathleen) of Richland Twp., PA; her sons Neal G. Johns of Sea-Tac, WA, and Scott K. Johns (Taylor) of Port Angeles, WA; stepdaughter, Cynthia Fink of Ft. Loudon, PA, and five Grandchildren; five Great Grandchildren; and one Great Great Grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husbands, Kenneth H. Johns and William J. Lawrence; three brothers, Mark, Wilber, and Teddy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 14 at 10:30 AM at Parkwood United Presbyterian Church in Allison Park, PA.
