4 Dec 1972: The festive air at the Palmyra Save-U Market Sunday afternoon, where employees were decorating for Christmas, turned to a scene of grief as the workers found the store firm president fatally stricken in his office. Pronounced dead on arrival at the Hershey Medical Center was Clinton J. Fleegal, 57, 861 S. Franklin St., Palmyra. His unexpected death was attributed to natural causes. Fleegal served as president of the store firm since its inception 10 years ago. He was also the owner and operator of a supermarket in Campbelltown for the last 18 years. Prior to opening this store he operated a grocery store in Alexandra, Huntingdon County. A native of Saxton, Bedford County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Freda Bupp Fleegal. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Campbelltown, the Campbelltown Lions Club and the Campbelltown Fire Co. He had helped to charter a Lions Club in Alexandra. Surviving is his wife, Sara Long Fleegal; a son, James H., at home, a senior at Elizabethtown College, and two daughters, Sally, wife of Dale L. Wagner, Palmyra, and Gwyn E., also at home and a freshman at Berkley School for Girls, East Orange, N.J. Two grandsons also survive. [Lebanon Daily News]
