George Ray Adams, age 68, of St. Joe, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in Harrison, Arkansas.

The son of Ernest and Tessie (Looney) Adams was born at Marshall, Arkansas on January 3, 1955. He was a lifelong resident of Searcy County and a 1973 graduate of St. Joe High School.

George enjoyed floating the Buffalo River, fishing, basketball, and puzzles. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Tessie Adams; his brothers, Gary Phillips and Bobby Phillips; brothers-in-law, Roy Hunter, Ricky Hunter, and Bob Ham; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Wien.

George is survived by his wife of 44 years, Reva (Hunter) Adams; his daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Jered Avery; three brothers, Lynn (Claudia) Adams, John (Linda) Adams, and Terry (Lottie) Adams; two sisters, Ginger (Ross) Maples and Joyce Ham; four grandchildren, Adison Hilligoss, Kason Hilligoss, Chloe Avery, and Logan Avery; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Ruie and Norman Baker, Rita and Don Clardy, Rocky and Paula Hunter, and Nancy Hunter; and he was the favorite uncle to lots of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be at 12:30, Saturday, July 22, 2023 in Stone Cemetery at Tomahawk (Searcy County) with Terry Adams officiating.

Visitation will be held before the procession to the graveside on Saturday from 10 AM – 11:30 AM, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Pallbearers are Jered Avery, Kason Hilligoss, Logan Avery, Shane Adams, John Adams, and Daniel Maples.
