CASTOR LA - Services for Mrs. Mae B. "Aunt Mae" Rowell, 82, of Castor, LA, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 1997, at First Baptist Church, Castor, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Charlie Upshaw. Interment will be at Little Hope Cemetery, Castor, LA, under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home, Ringgold LA. Mrs. Rowell passed away on Saturday, August 16, 1997, in Highland Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Ashland, LA, on Feb. 16, 1915. Mrs. Rowell lived in Bienville Parish all of her life. She was a devoted Christian and wife to Nelson for 58 years and a perfect aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rowell loved gardening, cooking and quilting; many people came to her house for a great home cooked meal and she never turned anyone away. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Mr. Nelson Rowell. She is survived by a devoted niece, Betty Nunn Higginbotham of Bossier City, LA; Betty's children, Gregg Nunn and his wife Kathy and their son, Cody, all of LePlace, LA; Cyndy James and her children, Kera and Mena, all of Nashville, TN; step-daughter Ruby Humble of Ringgold LA; Ruby's children, Roy, Fred, and Ron Shagun, all of Shreveport LA; brother Henry Lee Jordan and L. V. Bolyer, both
of Castor LA; several very devoted nieces and nephews and a lot of very special friends.
