Donald Emil Kraling, son of Mr. And Mrs. Emil Kraling, was born at Big Spring September 16, 1914. He was brought to his Lord in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on November 1, 1914. After having been duly instructed in the saying doctrines, he received his baptismal vows in the rite of confirmation in 1929. He remained a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church until the time of his departure.

He became ill before he was through the eighth grade. A great deal of time was spent seeking medical aid. He has been continually bed-ridden for the last twenty-five years. The stiffening of the joints from arthritis finally advanced so far that he had little movement left.

Donald communed regularly. He attended church services in the only way possible for him--first with the loud speaker placed by his bed and then by the tape recorder which was brought to him each Sunday. This project was taken care of by the men of the Church,

A month ago Donald was taken to the University Hospital where he passed away at 2:40 A.M. on Tuesday, October 7, 1958 at the age of 44 years and 21 days, A younger brother preceded him in death, being two years of age. He leaves to mourn: his parents; three brothers; Percy, Harvey and Allen all of Harmony; two sisters: Lucille, Mrs. Bill Ellis, of Salt Lake City, Utah and Adella, Mrs. Melvin Hauff of Ojai, California, and eleven nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, October 10 at 12 o'clock from the Peterson Funeral Home and 2 o'clock at the Big Spring Lutheran Church with Rev. Knut Monson officiating, in the absence of Rev. Orville Boettcher. Roger Kampstra sang "Safe In The Arms of Jesus" and the choir "Nearer My God To Thee." The pallbearers were: Leonard Runge, Loyal Brusse, Elmer Lange, Hiram McCoy, William Trende, Jr. and George Lange. The honorary pallbearers being: Mrs. Perry Pederson, Mrs. Willard Hannon, Mrs. William Miller, Mrs. William Trende Jr., Mrs. Hiram McCoy, and Mrs. Elmer Lange. Interment was in the Big Spring Cemetery.
