Husband of Eleanor Ann Rachel LeeListed as a wheelwright in 1850 Darlington SC census. Went to Louisiana about 1855 with four children. Took an amnesty oath as resident of Claiborne Parish Louisiana on January 16, 1855. Acquired 39.97 acres of land in Claiborne Parish on November 30, 1858 for 75 cents per acre. Listed in the Claiborne Parish, fourth ward, 1860 census. Enlisted on March 1, 1862 in 12th Louisiana Infantry. Was a Sargent in Co. G. Present on the rolls fron November 1862 to April 1863. Absent from May to October 1863, having been captured at the fort at Vicksburg May 17, 1863. Returned to rolls November 1863-August 1864. Returned to Claiborne Parish in July, 1863 apparently on parole.
