Abel of Forrest City, Arkansas; four brothers, William Abel of Grenada, Mississippi, Richard Abel of Kingsport, Tennessee, and James and Charles Abel of Forrest City; four sisters, Mrs. George Greenacre of Bluefield, West Virginia, Mrs. B. Roy Howard of Kingsport, Mrs. R. C. Ford of Memphis, and Mrs. A. M. Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Born in Forrest City, Arkansas, Mr. Abel had lived in the vicinity of Jackson for the past fifteen years. He was a cotton oil superintendent and had been connected for several years with the Jackson Cotton Oil Mill. He was a veteran of World War II, serving four and a half years in the Navy.
