He was born Nov 2, 1945, in Danville, a son of John D. and Ruby A. (Followell) Curry. He married Laura Davis on March 22, 1974, in Danville. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Stacey (Scott) Greene of Ridge Farm, Shannon (John) Cassady of Lafayette, Ind., and Susan (Sean) McBride of Westville; a brother, John Curry of Florida; a sister, Barbara (Robert) Lane of Oakwood; four grandchildren, Chad Greene, Logan and Tanner Cassady, and Mason McBride; four step-grandchildren, Desiree, Randy and Kayla Greene and Zachary Martin; and several sisters and brothers-in-law, special friends and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
Gary was a custodian for Judith Giacoma Elementary School in Westville for over 23 years. He was an avid sports fan, including the Cubs, Green Bay Packers and Illini.
He enjoyed making people laugh, spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
Services were held at Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown; Officiating: Rev. Jay Sorrell; Burial: Sandusky Cemetery in Westville.
