James Farlow

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for James Benjamin "Jim" Farlow of Eugene. He died March 27 of age-related causes at age 85. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at West Lawn.

He was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Hightower, Ala., to Edward and Lillie Crumbley Farlow. He married Joann Skoog on March 30, 1947, in Toledo.

He served in the Army in World War II in Attu, Alaska, in the Aleutian Islands. He was a millworker and Caterpillar driver at International Paper in Vaughn for 25 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Farlow of Eugene; a son, Edward of Eugene; two brothers, Clyde and Edward, both of Hightower; a sister, Mary Holland of Temple, Ga.; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. His wife died in 2001 and a son, James, died previously.

Burial will be in Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.
