Born on May 25, 1936, he was a son of the late Oren and Helen (Wiggins) Kirby and the husband of Lois (Seagle) Kirby.
Mr. Kirby worked in the textile industry as a chief mechanic and was a U. S. Navy Veteran.
He was a member of Gospel Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Robin Ivey and her husband Michael, and Jackie Bible and her husband Todd; two sons, Daniel and Craig Kirby; two grandsons, Ethan Bible and Lee Kirby; and a granddaughter, Nichole Bible, all of Cowpens.
Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2008, at Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. David Johnson.
