Dorothy Marie Botto-Merritt, 88 a resident of Hanover died peacefully on July 9, 2023. Dorothy was born in Everett to the late parents Louis and Emma VanCamfort. Beloved wife to the late Robert Merritt and former wife to the late Joseph Botto. Loving mother to Joseph Botto Jr. of Rockland, the late Steven Botto of Rockland, Robert A. Botto and his wife Kathryn of Halifax, Emma L. Botto of Rockland, Timothy J. Botto and his wife Robin of Plymouth and Linda M. Botto-Maldero of Rockland. Cherished Grammy to 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Cappellano and Eleanor Wheeler. Sister of the late Genevieve Lafave, Jessie Rogerson, Alice Berry, and Margaret Smith.

Dorothy was a homemaker for most of her life. She had a love for sewing in her free time. Dorothy also enjoyed ball room dancing and was known to clear the dance floor. Nights out Dorothy loved to sing her favorite song, "Stand by your Man" by Tammy Wynette. Dorothy's grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her so much happiness throughout her life and loved spending time with them.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday July 12th from 5:00-8:00pm at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland. A Funeral Service will be held on July 13th, at Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland at 9:00am burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
