Marie Louise "Lisa" Lissefeld, 93, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023 in Cedar Park, Texas. Lisa lived in Martinsburg for more than 50 years before moving to Texas where she lived with her daughter in her final years. Lisa was born on May 17, 1930 in Mery-sur-Oise, France. She immigrated to the United States in 1964 and became a citizen of the US in 1968. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents Jean-Pierre and Jeanne Silvant, and two sons Jean-Pierre "Pete" and Lee R "Bobby" Lissefeld. She is survived by her sister Danielle Silvant Gianora, two sons Jean-Louis "Jim", and Robert Lissefeld, daughter Theresa Lissefeld Kilgore and son-inlaw, Ted Kilgore, as well as six grandchildren; Danielle, Brian, and Kelly Lissefeld, Adam Basore, Alex and Sam Kilgore; six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Lisa led a full and fascinating life starting in the Paris suburbs and the French countryside and later immigrating to the US in 1964, becoming a full US citizen in 1968. Our mother raised all of us almost completely by herself, trying to provide for a family of five while learning to speak English. She was and always will be one of a kind with a rich story that spans 93 years. She was a remarkable woman who loved deeply and knew sacrifice, hard work, perseverance, with determination and a tender heart. She will be sorely missed by all of us and anyone who ever got the opportunity to get to know this amazing woman. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Funeral services will be at Rosedale on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 am, followed by a graveside service in Rosedale Cemetery.
