Phil Burnett Sr., age 79, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 6, 2023. He was a resident of Springfield, LA. Phil was a member of Killian Baptist Church and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed being outdoors especially fooling with his tomato plants. Phil adored his family, especially the ones that called him Pap. He was happiest surrounded by loved ones. Family get togethers, friends coming by, or just a simple family BBQ were the things that he looked forward to the most. He was known for his grand sense of humor, and he always lit up a room with his presence. Phil was a true people person and never met a stranger. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Burnett (Christie); sisters, Kay Mazak, Becky Sanders (Wayne), Robin Linn (Mike), Tonya Koch (Ken); brother, Harvey Burnett (Jill); grandchildren, Eden Burnett, Reagan Lambert (Dylan), Madison Burnett Cade (David), Mason Burnett, Madison O'Neal, Drew Kinsey; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Reese Lambert; daughter-in-law, Allison Burnett; and partner, Joyce Freeman.

Phil is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Burnett; son, Phillip M. Burnett Jr.; and parents, Evalena and Merle Burnett.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 1190 Hwy 51 N. Ponchatoula, LA 70454 on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
